Building Resilient Systems: Chaos Engineering for Startups

SRE Lead•5 August 2024

Building Resilient Systems with Chaos Engineering

"Everything fails, all the time." - Werner Vogels, CTO of Amazon.

What is Chaos Engineering?

It's the discipline of experimenting on a system to build confidence in its capability to withstand turbulent conditions in production.

Start Small

  1. Kill a pod: If you're on Kubernetes, manually delete a pod and see if your service recovers.
  2. Inject Latency: Use a service mesh like Istio to add 500ms latency to database calls. Does the frontend handle it gracefully?

The Benefit

You sleep better at night knowing your system can handle failure.

Build unshakeable infrastructure. Work with our SREs.
